Introduction

I prefer to work closely to the earth.
Using natural materials I create sculpture and installations on sites,
most of them outdoor, where I imaginate my inner world.

In the water and on the ground I create waving patterns of energy.
A sound wave, a motion, a spine, a voyage, a bridge to a different reality.
I imaginate energy of live.

In my projects I invite inhabitants and officials to come outside and join the building.
Besides the sculpture another important aspect is the connection
with the landscape and with each other.
Joined by fellow artists, who are into music and theatre,
the project will result in a smashing party.





CV

From 1990-1995 I study at the HKU, the Utrecht Academy of Arts.
I specialize in the training of teachers 'Spatial'.

Since 1995 I create visual art in galleries but usually at outdoor locations in the Netherlands (Leiden, Nuenen, Ameide, Bodegraven, Zoeterwoude, Gouda, Vlaardingen, Kinderdijk, Alkmaar, Zoetermeer, Putten and Zutphen) and internationally in Spain, Hungary, Australia; community art in Queensland and Western-Australia.

projects and community art

Since 1994, at my own initiative, I start projects together with colleagues. The first initiative was the summer project 'Enschede aan Zee'. Artists and children joined in the creation.

Since then, under my supervision, several other community art projects have been realised in nature. Every one of them with active participation of diverse groups of people from the community.

The project Landschapslied in Zoeterwoude in 2006 and the Salix Slinger, in Leiden from 2006 to 2008, are leading projects in the area of community art.

Cooperation
In the past I have joined several cooperations. I have exhibited my work as a participant of kunstenaarsinitiatief Quadraad at various occasions.

Janine Vermeulen, from www.ateljdekim.nl, and I exchange ideas and thoughts in the area of innovative developments on a regular basis.

The realisation of the Landscape Studio in Zoeterwoude is gradually taking shape with the help of my partner Lisatte van de Wel, training and research. From this location, joined by initiative people, we will start/begin projects and programmes aimed at community art, purpose and a sustainable society.


Work in possession of

In 1997 architect bureau Verheijen,Verkoren en de Haan buys two art works; 'Touwboot' and 'Vrouwenhuis'.

Regular private persons buy work like photo's, drawings and mixed media.

 

Classes and workshops

Since 1993 I teach classes and workshops,
as a guest-teacher for third parties at various locations indoor and outdoor.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Co operation

Since 2004 I take part of the artistgroup Qua Draad, we organise work in proces expositions with a lot of events included. With the group Bewust aan de Kust I develop projects with the theme human and landscape.
